About the Workplace
Ale Municipality has a centralized secretariat unit where we have gathered the responsibility for registration, committee processes, archives, insurance issues, and election administration.
The secretariat unit is part of the Democracy department, which is one of four departments in the municipal management administration. The other departments are HR, Finance, and Citizen Services. We have a central role and a close collaboration with other departments and administrations.

Job Responsibilities
As a business developer in the secretariat unit, you will have a broad assignment that includes working with the municipality's insurance, election administration, process development, and the creation of governing documents.
The role includes being an insurance coordinator, which means ensuring that the municipality has adequate insurance coverage. You will administer the municipality's insurance and support managers and case handlers throughout the municipality in handling damages and various types of claims. You will work on developing preventive measures to reduce the number of damages.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a university or college education focused on public administration, economics, law, or other education or experience deemed equivalent by the employer. If you have training or experience in handling insurance cases, it is an advantage.
You have good competence in digital document management systems, as well as a well-developed ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
For the role, you need to be self-sufficient and able to drive work in a structured manner and with high quality. It is important that you consider authority boundaries even though the unit is centralized, and you need to have great integrity. You must enjoy sometimes focusing entirely on insurance cases, sometimes supporting election work, and sometimes being able to work on development tasks within the unit. It is important to collaborate well and help each other in the group even if you have different assignments.
Other Information
We have flexible working hours and the possibility to work remotely at times, but it is the tasks that dictate where we perform our duties. Committees are scheduled during the day, but municipal council meetings occur in the evening.
The position is a permanent employment.
